Jordyn Woods -- And Her Mom -- Get Real About Mental Health, Losing Friends, Bullying, & More

Jordyn Woods Elizabeth Woods mental health

Sounds like a major comeback is in the making for Jordyn Woods!

Maybe not so much in the public eye — although she supposedly does have some projects she’s working on right now! But this particular comeback seems more like a mental rejuvenation and recovery for Kylie Jenner‘s ex-best friend, who fell out with the KarJenner clan in that infamous cheating scandal surrounding Tristan Thompson.

Teen Vogue went deep with Jordyn in a new interview released on Thursday, and to hear the former famous BFF tell it, this is only the beginning of her life. Sure, people may have ideas about the 21-year-old based on her recent controversies with America’s first fam — but she’s just scratched the surface on who she is, as she told the outlet (below):

“Everyone is trying to figure out what I’m doing but, to be honest, I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m finding my self worth. At 21, this is the very beginning, even though I feel so old. This is the time you figure out who you are, and don’t let anyone define you. Identity is something everyone struggles with. Everyone wants to fit in and find their place, and it’s so hard sometimes. Everyone tries to be the same person because they don’t know who they are.”

Nice!

Woods also revealed more about the mental health roller coaster she’s been on in the past six months, suggesting we as a society should discuss it more openly than we do (below):

“I wish there was a course that everyone had to take [on mental health]. We should open the conversation of mental health and start discussing it in classrooms, and among each other. Especially in the black community — that’s not something we talk about.”

Amen to that!

Regardless of background or what someone may have been done in the past, we should all be more open to talking about and de-stigmatizing mental health!!

Oh, and Jordyn does explicitly open up more about her falling-out with Kylie, too. She notes how much of a role journaling has played in helping her through the tough times, while also noting the loss of her father prepared her for everything else difficult in her life (below):

“What’s the definition of a breakup? ‘The separation or breaking up of something into several pieces or sections. The end of a relationship.’ Those are the two things. What I’d ask is, ‘Does anything really end? Or is it a cycle?’ The toughest breakup I had to go through was losing my father. Everything doesn’t feel as intense as that. Losing my dad prepared me for everything that happens in life, and… life has thrown some really crazy things at me. That’s part of the process.”

Powerful stuff! And seriously, journaling is SO therapeutic. For real. You should try it if you don’t already do it. It’s kinda like having a therapist without the other person, LOL.

Her mother, Elizabeth Woods, shared the photo set from the very same impactful Teen Vogue interview to her Instagram account on Thursday night, too, as you can see (below):

Beautiful!

And ever the protective and loving mom, Elizabeth also got real about her daughter’s big interview with the mag — and spoke deeper about the bullying and difficult times Jordyn has gone through in the last few months, as well (below):

“Thank you @teenvogue for such a beautiful and real interview with @jordynwoods! To incorporate @jodiewoods in this also was magical! If you get one of us, then you get all of us. To sit back and watch @jordynwoods go through all of this mental and emotional anguish has been very emotional for us and we pray for everyone daily. To see your kids hurt at any age is difficult to say the least. All I can say is that I hope everyone out there is perfect and no one has to ever endure any bumps along the journey of growing.

To watch the majority of her friends leave her, not be able to go get services where she got accustomed to going and get bullied by the world, it takes a strong ass family and individual to be able to deal with that on a daily basis. I am proud of your strength, your love of family and God, and your willingness to everyday want to move forward and do something positive @jordynwoods!! We are praying that friendships can be mended as life is short and no one is perfect. All those who truly know her and us, know that love is all we have to give. We for real got this and for life I have the most valuable gift, my family ❤️❤️ #teamigotthis #mamawoods”

Well then!!!
