Former Major League Baseball Star Drunkenly Attacks Band Mid-Concert, Gets Arrested

no title
This… this is quite the story.
Josh Beckett had a very long and successful career pitching in Major League Baseball — including winning the World Series and being named World Series MVP with the Florida Marlins in 2003 — but he’s apparently been, uh, practicing like a football player since he retired?
The 37-year-old spent some time in jail this week after allegedly tackling the lead singer of a band while mid-performance at a country club in Texas. Wait, WTF?!

According to media reports, the big, strong former pitcher was arrested for public intoxication after officers determined Beckett was “a danger to himself and others.”
You don’t have to go far to find out why cops thought that, though, because the lead singer of the band that had been performing at the event where Beckett was arrested has the injuries to prove it!!
Cops say the singer was simply just on stage performing for the crowd when Beckett — who claims he was stage diving as an act of horseplay — blindsided the poor guy with a HUGE tackle.
The worst part is that the singer was apparently pretty badly injured. TMZ reports the guy suffered “serious injuries” to his arm, neck, and shoulder than include both a torn rotator cuff and a dislocated shoulder.
WTF, Josh?!

Cops say the incident is still being investigated, but we already know what’s coming: get ready to pony up some money, Mr. MLB, because you’re about to get sued.
What the fuck was Beckett thinking?!?!
