On Friday, Sweden’s top prosecutor said she would drop the investigation into a rape claim made against Julian Assange almost seven years ago.
The WikiLeaks founder has been hiding out in Ecuador’s Embassy in London since 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden where he would be forced to answer questions about rape allegations made by two women.

But the 45-year-old programmer isn’t totally free of charges just yet.
While the pardon officially excuses Assange from the investigation in Sweden, British authorities said the fugutive was still wanted in the U.K. for skipping bail in 2012.
This means he could STILL face arrest if he bounces from the Ecuadorean Embassy.
The Australian has always denied the accusation that he had sex with a sleeping woman without a condom, despite her protests against having unprotected sex.
A lawyer for one of Assange’s accusers said her client was shocked by the recent development, saying in a statement:
“It is a scandal that a suspected rapist can avoid the judicial system and thus avoid a trial in court├óΓé¼┬ª a decision to drop the case won’t make her change [her assertion] that Assange exposed her to rape.”
Despite still facing charges, Assange is ecstatic over the recent news. He shared a selfie on Twitter (above) looking happier than Hillary Clinton before WikiLeaks published all those emails.
