Another Democrat has thrown his hat into the ring to run for President in 2020 against Donald Trump! As you can see (above), Julian Castro — the former mayor of San Antonio and Barack Obama‘s one-time Housing & Urban Development Secretary — announced his candidacy in a 30-plus minute speech in the south Texas city on Saturday. Castro delivered his speech in both English and Spanish!
Castro is in early for what’s going to be an extremely crowded Democrat field to figure out who fights against Trump. Already officially running for the title now are Castro, U.S. Representative John Delaney of Maryland, U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, and state Senator Richard Ojeda of West Virginia.
Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Marianne Williamson, Jay Inslee, and almost two-dozen other potential candidates are thought to be likely to enter the primaries soon, too. Going to be a very crowded field!!
May the best one kick Trump’s ass… Right?!
