Pirelli‘s 2017 calendar is finally here!
And as you may remember from last year, the famously NSFW pages got a makeover to feature “women who have achieved something”!
Instead of models donning sometimes little to no clothing, the team behind the calendar enlisted some of Hollywood’s biggest names this year to purposefully not go nude.
Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Uma Thurman, and Robin Wright are all featured in the Peter Lindbergh-lensed shoot, with the photog adding nudity “strips the actresses’ soul.”

Not only are the A-listers not stripped down, but they’re also completely unretouched!
Peter explained of his decision:
“I wanted to use the 2017 Calendar to convey a different kind of beauty. Since it’s based on consumption, the present system offers a single kind of beauty, which is essentially one of youth and perfection, since its objective is to get people to consume. But this idea of beauty has nothing to do with the real world or with women. Through the Pirelli Calendar I’ve tried to convey a different message, which is that beauty is far more than what advertising offers us today. My aim was therefore to portray women in a different way: and I did this by calling in actresses who’ve played an important role in my life, getting as close as possible to them to take my photos.”
And it definitely sounds like Nicole agrees!
During the Tuesday press conference, the actress shared:
“My husband [Keith Urban] totally prefers me with no make up on and at my most natural. We’re allowed to have that choice and it’s a very important message to give to not only little girls but little boys. We’re so used to airbrushing these days so you’re not used to seeing people not have a perfect image. There’s an enormous amount of judgement and the more we can strip that away the better.”

You can also see Alicia Vikander, Zhang Ziyi, Rooney Mara, Jessica Chastain, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlotte Rampling, Helen Mirren, Lea Seydoux, and special guest Anastasia Ignatova star in the calendar.
