Justin Baldoni Drags Marvel Into Blake Lively Drama -- He Must Think ‘Nicepool’ WAS Making Fun Of Him!

The legal drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively just took a super inneresting turn.

Things are only getting nastier — and more litigious — between the It Ends with Us co-stars. Especially since Blake filed her sexual harassment complaint last month! And as Justin began dealing with the fallout from that, fans began connecting dots… Specifically between his persona and a character in Deadpool & Wolverine.

In case you haven’t seen the Disney blockbuster, the titular Marvel heroes cross paths with multiple alternate universe versions of the Merc with a Mouth — two of which include ‘Nicepool’ and ‘Ladypool’ — the latter of which played by Blake.

During their first encounter, Deadpool and Wolverine quickly realize the man bun-sporting ‘Nicepool,’ who seems well-rounded and polite at the surface level, is actually kind of a douche. You know, like the kind who publicly boasts about being a feminist, but privately comments on women’s postpartum bodies. In one interaction, he says:

“Wait ’til you see Ladypool, she is gorgeous! She just had a baby and you can’t even tell.”

When he’s told he shouldn’t say things like that, he responds:

“It’s okay, I identify as a feminist.”

With everything that allegedly went down between Justin and Blake on the set of IEWU relating to Blake’s own postpartum body, fans began to speculate that ‘Nicepool’ was a caricature of Justin. We mean… did Ryan Reynolds use the movie to make fun of his wife’s enemy? The timing works.

Another connection fans have drawn centers around the character’s third-act storyline.

Spoilers ahead!

‘Nicepool’ ends up getting shot… Like a LOT. And guess who pulls the trigger? Yup, you guessed it: Ladypool — who, like we said, was played by Blake! Oh, and where was he shot? In the street in front of a flower shop! If that doesn’t make you go “OH S**T,” we’ll just spell it out for you… Blake’s character Lily Bloom in IEWU was a FLORIST! Who owns a flower shop!

Omg…

Justin’s lawyer Bryan Freedman has made it clear he believes there’s “no question” the ‘Nicepool’ character “relates to Justin,” and now, he’s taken a bold legal step to follow up.

According to Variety, Freedman sent a litigation hold letter to Marvel president Kevin Feige, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and Tim Miller, the director of the first Deadpool film. We’ll circle back to how Tim fits in despite not being attached to Deadpool & Wolverine. According to the outlet, the letter demands Marvel preserve “any and all documents relating to the development of the ‘Nicepool’ character” as well as “communications relating to the development, writing, and filming of storylines and scenes featuring ‘Nicepool.’”

YIKES. Ryan was a major creative force behind the development and writing process for the Marvel film. And Freedman believes Ryan used the movie as an opportunity to take a dig at Justin. The letter also calls for the studio to retain “all documents relating to or reflecting a deliberate attempt to mock, harass, ridicule, intimidate, or bully Baldoni through the character of ‘Nicepool.’”

Justin must agree with his lawyer BIG time about the ‘Nicepool’ character — and it’s clear flattery ain’t what he’s feeling.

As for how Tim Miller fits into this? The litigation hold letter implies a rift reminiscent of the one between Blake and Justin exists between Ryan and Tim, who did not return to direct the two Deadpool sequels because of creative differences. It instructs the studio to preserve any documents and data “relating to complaints made against Ryan Reynolds by any person, including without limitation Tim Miller,” as well as any instances of Ryan exerting “creative control of any film project.”

Wow! He thinks Ryan took over the Deadpool franchise and pushed out Tim Miller! The way he’s saying Blake was trying to push him out! And they’re going to try to prove it!
