Justin Bieber wants all his fans to support his new campaign with PETA to encourage people to start adopting and stop buying pets!
Approximately 8 million unwanted dogs and cats enter animal shelters every year in the U.S., and half of them must be euthanized simply because there aren’t enough good homes.
Buying an animal from a pet store or breeder robs a homeless animal of his or her chance at finding a good home, plus encourages puppy mills, in which dogs are raised in cramped, crude, and filthy conditions.
The less fortunate never even make it to a safe haven; they are left to fend for themselves on the streets, where they are often subjected to abuse by cruel people or succumb to starvation, disease, or injuries.
So sad!
An adoption advocate since adopting his dog Sam, JBiebs says:
“It’s really important that people adopt. I really encourage going out to an animal shelter or a place where you can get a dog who has been abandoned or doesn’t have a home.”
Justin joins a growing list of celebrities—including Lea Michele, Kellan Lutz, Pink, Sean Kingston, Kelly Osbourne, and Travie McCoy—who have teamed up with PETA to help animals and so can you!
