We previously mentioned that Justin Bieber missed his midnight deadline for getting back his monkey.
Now, Mally is a German.
But it might not be the end for Justin and his monkey! If he actually wants him.
German authorities said:
“Justin Bieber has six weeks to bring more papers or contest this decision, but if we don’t hear from him, the decision to confiscate the monkey will be legally binding. I don’t think he will bring papers because he had six weeks before and nobody contacted us.”
So for now, it seems they’re assuming they’ll be keeping the monkey.
Mally will be moving to an unspecified zoo, so that Beiber fans can’t come and bother him as he learns to live with his new family.
Mally is apparently doing well, the official said:
“Mally is fine. His current weight is 1.2 kilograms. Mally is in a special part of the shelter. Currently, I have seen him playing with the staff. He is playing and turning around and he climbed on the trees. I think he will be really fine. He is very healthy. [The staff] is happy he will be getting a new family of Capuchin monkeys. He is alone and it’s better for him to get a new family.”
We’re so so so sad that Justin was so heartless and abandoned his monkey so easily, but at least Mally will get a monkey family now.
We actually hope he doesn’t pick him up!
