Thus far Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have been putting on brave faces for the public amid his cheating scandal.
(Yes, a huge majority of y’all told us holding hands with another woman — which JT was photographed definitely doing with co-star Alisha Wainwright — counts as crossing the line into cheating territory!)
But how are things going behind closed doors? Not so good based on what one insider is spilling.

A source told Hollywood Life on Monday:
“She’s been really hurt by the photos of Justin and Alisha. She felt upset and embarrassed above everything else. She’s a very private person and was pretty angry to put it lightly. Jessica’s not one of those actresses who wanted to be a celebrity. She doesn’t like being involved in this kind of a story and has been laying as low as possible. It’s clear it has taken a toll on them as a couple.”
Ouch. However, there is some healing going on. The insider, supposedly close to the couple, says:
“Jessica and Justin have been doing a lot of talking about it and he sees how much it has hurt her. Now, they seem to be doing a bit better since the photographs came out.”
So what accounts for them doing better?
There’s the public apology Justin made earlier this month admitting he “displayed a strong lapse in judgment.” He wrote:
“I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love. A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it.”
We’ve heard that statement was actually Jessica’s idea, and it was a smart one. The photos were out there, so it’s not like he could just keep up the wall of denial.
But it didn’t magically make everything go away. There’s more work to do still if they want to heal.
Last week a source told Us Weekly Justin “told Jessica to come down to New Orleans while he is shooting [Palmer] so she can see for herself that nothing is going on between him and Alisha.”
As poorly as that bodes for the state of their relationship, that she’d need to check up on him, it was at least a step in rebuilding the trust.
Except… maybe it wasn’t?
See, Page Six got photos on Monday morning of the co-star in question arriving at the airport in Los Angeles. So… Alisha Wainwright had already wrapped on Palmer?
If so, that means Justin invited Jessica to prove the on-set romance wasn’t real — just in time for her to arrive on the New Orleans set after the alleged other woman was already gone.
What a completely B.S. empty gesture! And his wife must surely feel the same way. Ugh!
