The Jersey Shore drama never ends!
As we’ve been reporting throughout Friday morning, Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley split from her boyfriend, 24-year-old Zack Clayton Carpinello, late last night after his on-camera actions while filming for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation came to light in Thursday night’s new episode.

It was fascinating to watch the breakup go down in real time, as JWoww took immediate (five months late, post-filming) Thursday night action after seeing Zack groping and flirting with castmate Angelina Pivarnick in a Sin City nightclub. And while JWoww is single and on the prowl again, it’s a letdown to watch ’24,’ as the reality TV cast called her new man, fall so quickly by the wayside.
We’re not the only ones sad to see JWoww get hurt, either. Ex-husband Roger Mathews broke his silence on Friday morning once he heard about the breakup — and its unique circumstances — and even though he sounds beyond content to be on his own, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel sympathy for his former wife.
The 44-year-old truck driver spoke to Us Weekly about the breakup, clearly taking the high road and saying (below):
“I want peace with my ex-wife for my kids and if there is turmoil in her life and in her household, it’s just not a good thing for our children, so I wish nothing but the best for her. I wish them all well and I hope Jenni and Zack can work through their issues if they deem it worth saving. I’m focused on myself and my children. Onwards and upwards.”
Very simple. Very straightforward. Very mature!
Of course, JWoww and Roger weren’t exactly known for being mature when they were together — and especially not as their relationship fell apart and they began to really go after each other — but maybe this is the sign of a new, mature, responsible Mr. Mathews here… and we can only hope JWoww follows suit, too!
Roger continued (below):
“Although I haven’t watched Jersey Shore in years, of course people filled me in on what went down on last night’s episode. I don’t have much in the way for feelings about it as it is no longer my business or concern.”
We can certainly understand that!
Roger gets real…
That wasn’t all from the truck driver, who peppered Us Weekly with a few more interesting and notable thoughts on the reality show grind itself, and how content he is with his status as a former TV star. The most interesting came with his clear respect for Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola who, as we’ve been reporting this week, has all but ghosted her former castmates recently.
Roger revealed (below):
“The very premise and settings for the show make it incredibly hard on relationships both while filming and at home. I would never blame the show. It’s a personal choice to be part of it but I’ve always thought Sammi choosing her personal sanity and privacy by not participating in the new season spoke volumes about her character.”
Wow! That is more than a little shade being thrown on everyone else!
And the former reality TV co-star put the nostalgia nail in the coffin by all but denying a return to the show, and concluding it all like this (below):
“I understand the money is hard to turn down, but the Jersey Shore show, from my experience, is one that was captivating in the early seasons when everyone was younger and single for the most part. I’m solely focused on being an involved and loving father to our two kids and still dedicated to my journey of personal growth.”
Good for you, Roger!
