Well, if you want to know who won and who lost a debate, look for which side is coming up with excuses!
Tuesday night’s seemed pretty one-sided to us. Kamala Harris seemed poised, presidential, and prepared. Donald Trump repeated nonsensical racist internet conspiracy theories about Haitian immigrants stealing and eating pets in Ohio. Hell, he was asked if he still didn’t have a healthcare plan after NINE YEARS of bashing Obamacare, four of which he was in office, and he offered meekly:
“I have concepts of a plan.”
Naturally, Trump’s most ardent — and least rational — defenders came up with a reason he must have gotten beaten so badly. Kamala cheated!

The first wave of this going around, which was parroted by Trump himself, was that Kamala was given the questions in advance by ABC News. After all, how could she possibly have known that at a presidential debate, she was going to be asked about the economy, immigration, abortion, and foreign policy?! Here’s Trump complaining Kamala knew what was going to be asked on Fox News:
Donald Trump, without evidence, suggests that Kamala Harris had the questions before the debate: “They had a rigged show with somebody that maybe even had the answers…I watched her talk, and I said, you know, she seems awfully familiar with the questions.” pic.twitter.com/P3SNSBskl4

LOLz! Seriously, if you didn’t know all the questions that were going to be asked, you really have no business being on that stage. These are all no-brainers. We spend more time keeping up with the Kardashians than with elections, and even we know what was going to be asked.
The bigger, dumber conspiracy going around now is that the VP’s pearl earrings were actually earpieces, and she was being coached by her team via radio. Yes, really!
Trumpers even found fake pearl earring earpieces online to “prove” their theory. They’re called the NOVA H1 Audio Earrings, and they’re advertised as the “only wireless earphones embedded in a pair of pearl earrings.”

She is seen wearing an earring developed by Nova Audio Earrings first seen at CES 2023.
This earring has audio transmission capabilities and acts as a discreet earpiece.

Initially, I was skeptical, but after conducting some research, it appears there might be truth to the allegations regarding Kamala Harris using assistance during the Presidential Debate.
Am I mistaken, or do these resemble the Nova HI audio earrings that Kamala is wearing? pic.twitter.com/ND88UrgR0T

Look at these Earpieces that look like earrings. Looks a lot like what Cackling Kamala was wearing. What do you think? pic.twitter.com/87faMEeZ3O

Well, if Alex Jones says so…
LOLz! The truth is, Kamala was wearing maybe her favorite pair of pearl earrings from Tiffany & Co. — the South Sea Pearls. She wears them all the time. They retailed for $800 and look great on her.
In fact, they are ACTUALLY earrings from Tiffany & Co, part of the Tiffany Hardwear collection. The earrings are no longer available on their site. They were the South Sea Pearl earrings. pic.twitter.com/TerifYy6It

They look pretty distinct from the Nova ones. Seems pretty clear this is debunked. Not that it needed debunking…
The funniest part of this to us is it’s all based on the premise Kamala couldn’t possibly have answered the questions as well as she did without some kind of coaching. These MAGA folks have lowered their bar so far to the floor for Trump, they have no conception of a candidate actually preparing and being able to give cogent answers to really obvious questions. Like, “she knew they were going to ask about crime and had an answer prepared, she must have cheated somehow!” It’s hysterical. They really forgot what “presidential” looks like.
The other really funny thing about this conspiracy theory is it completely disregards Trump’s role in losing the debate. Remember, he was the one who rambled, refused to give substantive answers on his abortion ban, cited authoritarian Victor Orban as the one world leader who said nice things about him, got so racist about immigrants he fell for an online hoax, and again — admitted he only has “concepts of a plan” for healthcare.
In other words, for this ridiculous conspiracy theory to even make sense as an explanation of the debate’s outcome, Trump would ALSO HAVE TO BE WEARING EARRINGS! Someone from Kamala’s team would have to be feeding him the dumbest, most crazy-sounding things to say. See what we mean??
The truth is, Trump lost this debate even more than Kamala won it. And no wild theory is going to explain it. He lost because he’s not fit to be president.
