Kanye West Officially Declared A Billionaire By Forbes -- But Argues The Mag Undervalued Him!

Kanye West disputes Forbes' math after the magazine declares him a billionaire.

Kanye West doesn’t need anyone else’s validation that he’s rich and famous, but even after Forbes just granted the rapper their “billionaire” stamp of approval, the man is still upset!

ICYMI, the mag has valued the 42-year-old Grammy winner at $1.3 billion, making him hip-hop’s second billionaire after JAY-Z. But keeping in line with his notoriously overconfident attitude, Kim Kardashian West‘s husband celebrated the honor by texting the mag to refute their math about his value.

According to ‘Ye, between his combined assets, clothing line, and music career — he’s worth WAY more than he’s getting credit for!

How much more money are we talking about, exactly? A billion dollars is a billion dollars, right? Well, the Jesus Is King artist reportedly sent Forbes editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg a snarky message that reads:

“It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”

Shots fired! But maybe they had it coming since the outlet threw a little sarcastic shade at ‘Ye’s obsession with numbers in their new feature. As you’re likely aware, Kanye’s amassed his wealth in a number of different ways over the years.

There are his discography rights and GOOD Music record label valued at $90 million to consider, as well as his other combined assets including his stocks ($35 million), owned property ($81 million), and land ($21 million). You know that sprawling Wyoming ranch isn’t cheap! But its the Yeezy sneaker and apparel line that took Kanye over the edge, as Forbes and Bloomberg estimate it earned $1.3 billion alone in revenue last year.

When the mag did a profile on Mr. West last year, they declined to grant him the coveted label that his sister-in-law Kylie Jenner is the youngest to proudly wear. Kanye fired back with his own “receipts,” stating:

“I showed them a $890 million receipt, and they still didn’t say ‘billionaire.'”

Greenburg writes the Power rapper followed up with a similar nasty response when their official list came out earlier this month, allegedly texting him:

“You know what you’re doing. You’re toying with me and I’m not finna lye [sic] down and take it anymore in Jesus name.”

The article explains how they tried to contact him and validate their numbers before moving forward with the piece but he dragged his feet on following up. And Forbes CEO Randall Lane tweeted a screenshot West allegedly sent him the night before their article went live:

Yikes!!

West and his BFF Donald Trump definitely love bragging about themselves. Despite the incredibly salty response from Kanye, this is something to celebrate! Heck, most people on Earth won’t ever see that kind of money, so, whether it’s off by a few digits — it’s still lining his fat pockets!
