Even Kanye West can fall victim to identity theft!
The superstar was the victim of MASSIVE forgery this week when a man who apparently knew him pretended to be the rapper to negotiate a major (fake) performance contract for New York Fashion Week.

The real victim here, aside from Yeezy, is Philipp Plein, a designer who ended up agreeing to a SEVEN-FIGURE contract for “Kanye” to perform at NYFW.
The contract was never going to be honored, of course — the man apparently perfectly forged Kanye’s name and signature on the documents — and Plein even gave him a $900,000 advance for the phony show!
By the time Plein and the real Ye realized what had happened, the man had long since bounced with the nearly $1 million in advance money, and the designer is now out a HUGE chunk of change…
TMZ reports that the guy involved is “a former friend” of the singer’s and a one-time associate of G.O.O.D. Music… so if the media knows that much, we can assume police hopefully won’t be too long in tracking the man down?!
Regardless, what a crazy, bold, and daring move to steal Mr. West’s identity! And what a pay-off! Crazy!!!!
