Kanye West is suing JAY-Z‘s Roc-A-Fella Records and EMI April Music, as both allegedly owe him money.

While the legal documents are heavily redacted, the Yeezus rapper is asking for a declaration of his rights over the depute, and wants money.
In regards to his legal battle with EMI, West reportedly signed a contract with the company a year before he released his 2004 debut College Dropout. By the end of 2011, Kanye wrote or co-wrote more than 200 songs, the rights of which belong to EMI.
While this lawsuit is also heavily redacted, West is asking for a declaration of his rights under the contract, and presumably wants compensation.
He is being repped by law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.
The two rappers collaborated on 2011’s Watch the Throne.
