Kate Middleton could pop at any moment, but the royal family is prepared to stick to tradition no matter what.
But with a twist of course!
When the little bundle of joy is born at St. Mary’s hospital, a person from Kensington Palace will hand an envelope to a member of the royal family to take to Buckingham Palace.
Then, the same wooden sign that announced Prince William’s birth will be posted on a wooden easel at Buckingham Palace. At the same time, a digital announcement will be released, and the world will learn the baby’s sex, which the parents (apparently) won’t even know until it’s born!
If William is up in north Wales at the time, he’ll catch a flight back south, and if Kate is elsewhere, like her parents’ house, then they have plans to get her to London or to be seen locally.
Wow! Most people just keep a packed suitcase by the door.
The first people to know will be Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Kate’s parents.
The final formality will be the first time the public sees the baby.
Unlike with Kim Kardashian, we know we’ll see the tiny tot when the parents pose with it on the hospital steps, which is when they’ll also likely reveal the name!
However, there’s a bit of wiggle room. Some sources think that the couple will bring the baby to the Queen rather than her coming to the hospital.
She’s been doing a lot of visiting lately with Prince Philip, after all!
We LOVE all this preparedness! Now we know just what to expect!
