Today, with a bit of trouble, Prince William slid a beautiful solid gold ring onto Kate Middleton‘s finger and officially made her his wife. We’ve just learned that this gorgeous piece of jewelry was actually a present bestowed upon Prince William from his grandmother, The Queen.
Shortly after William and Kate were engaged, Her Majesty gave William a piece of precious Welsh gold to be fashioned into Kate’s wedding ring.
William then contacted the royal jeweler, Wartski, who previously made the rings for his cousin and his father when he wed Camilla in 2005.
As was previously reported, the couple opted not to have a ring fashioned for William.
Very sweet! It’s a simple band, but with so much significance!
