Kate Winslet Carried Richard Branson's Mom Out Of Burning Home!

Kate Winslet Richard Branson Caribbean Island House Fire

Kate Winslet is a hero!

According to Sir Richard Branson, the actress actually physically carried his 90-year-old mother out of his burning home on his private island on the Caribbean.

Although, Kate is not pictured above, this is what the scene looked like when his home went up in flames. Branson described what happened:

“My mother’s 90 years old and, in order — although she can walk — in order to speed the process up, (Winslet) picked my mother up and carried her, carried her out of the house, and so Kate helped rescue my mother.”

He later said:

“Talking to her (Winslet), she said it’s like being in a film set where you’re waiting for the words ‘cut’ but they just don’t come. So it was quite surreal for her to be in a real-life situation.”

Thankfully, nobody was injured in the fire. As Richard said:

“I have lost thousands of photographs and my notebooks, which is very sad. But all family and friends are well — which, in the end, is all that really matters.”

Agreed. And thank goodness Kate was staying there to help Richard’s mother. Such courage! Bravo, Kate!
