While Kathy Griffin and Joan Rivers are both fearless, funny ladies, that doesn’t mean they share the same style of hosting.
This morning, the red-headed comedian went on The Today Show to promote her upcoming gig on Fashion Police — and she made sure to clarify the difference between her and the late comedy legend.

She told Savannah Gunthrie:
“[Joan] absolutely left big shoes to fill, and I’m bringing my own slippers├óΓé¼┬ª And yeah, as you know, Joan and I were great pals. And I will continue, if nothing else, in her fearless style of taking no prisoners. But our styles were different.”
While the late, great Rivers was known for her razor sharp one-liners, the My Life on the D-List star is more on-the-fly.
The 54-year-old explains:
“I’m a different human being├óΓé¼┬ª I’m more improvisational. I don’t know what I’m going to say, and neither does anyone else on the panel.”
