Oh, snap!
Katie Couric has successfully swiped this year’s biggest interview to date from her former Today show colleague, Matt Lauer.
Today’s Lauer initially landed an ‘exclusive’ chat with Chelsey Sullenberger, the pilot who successfully landed that US Airways jet on the Hudson River.
The interview was eventually cancelled because of investigation business.
NBC fully expected Sully to come by and chat with them once he was cleared by investigators, but instead, he’s going to sit down with CBS’s Katie.
An NBC mouthpiece released this statement about the Sully swiping, “What Captain Sullenberger did in the cockpit on Flight 1549 was heroic and admirable. Unfortunately, people close to him have not acted nearly as admirably over the past few days. They gave us their word, and then broke their commitment. We wish Captain Sullenberger the best.”
Poor Matt!
But, congrats, Katie!
We always knew you had dirty drive in you!
