Welp.
Katy Perry is getting some major heat for collaborating with Migos on her latest track, Bon Appétit.
The rappers are known for having made homophobic and misogynistic remarks in the past. Most notably, when Atlanta rapper iLoveMakonnen came out, Quavo said, “This world is not right.”

They later issued an apology on Twitter:

But Katy’s being grilled because, as an ally to the LGBT community, this looks like hypocrisy on her part. And just last month she received a National Equality Award at the Human Rights Campaign gala.
Not to mention her Twitter bio has her describing herself as “Artist. Activist. Conscious.”
People on social media did not go easy on the pop star over this latest incident:
Things woke activist queen @katyperry did recently 😍
-didn’t support Kesha
-mocked Britney’s 2007 breakdown
-collaborated with homophobes

@katyperry also hella disappointed in you for doing a song with a homophobe. Choices.

How @katyperry received an award for LGBTQ+ activism but yet still has a song in colab with homophobe’s? Doesn’t make much sense├░┼╕┬ñ┬ª├░┼╕┬Å┬╝├óΓé¼┬ì├óΓäóΓÇÜ├»┬╕┬Å

Why is Katy perry working with a known homophobe? I was even defending her first single – but I’ll pass on this next one.

@katyperry I love you, but collabing with a homophobe… pic.twitter.com/kFK1ixh2D2

So far Katy hasn’t addressed the issue.
