Police Just Used Katy Perry Music As Riot Control To Break Up A Protest!

American authorities should take note…
Police in the Philippines avoided a national tragedy on Thursday by breaking up a protest in a rather unusual — but totally safe — way.
When hundreds of workers and students surrounded the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Manila, instead of using excessive force, officers instead blasted Katy Perry music to drown out the chants!

APEC is a group of international leaders — including President Barack Obama — and while locals were trying to voice their concerns, when water cannons stopped working the Police decided to play Roar to stop the commotion.
Other songs played outside the APEC included David Guetta‘s Sexy B*tch, Dolly Parton‘s Islands in the Stream, and the Bee GeesHow Deep is Your Love?
We’re hearing the protest was peaceful so it’s not great that people weren’t allowed to voice their opinions — but we’re glad the police could find a method that didn’t hurt anyone.
What music would YOU use as riot control??
