It’s been a couple weeks now since Kelly Clarkson first went missing from her daytime TV talk show, and through it all and even her eventual return, her staffers continued to be very worried for her — and for the future of the show.
As we’ve been reporting, earlier this month, Kelly ducked out on her eponymous Kelly Clarkson Show extremely abruptly one day. So abruptly, in fact, that guest Simu Liu was thrust into the spotlight and asked to host the show in her place after getting just FIVE MINUTES of warning!! So, whatever was going on with Kelly came up very quickly.

Days after that absence hit the news, insiders came out with claims about what might be going on. However, that revelation was super vague, and honestly didn’t tell us a whole lot about what the American Idol alum is going through.
Well, now we are beginning to learn how uneasy things have been for her on-set staff as answers just aren’t coming. On Wednesday, DailyMail.com spoke to two show employees about the singer and television star. To hear one tell it, everyone on staff is said to be “fearing the worst” even now that Kelly has returned to film some episodes. That’s because, according to that employee, the A-list momma has undergone a noticeable change in behavior.
The insider first explained to DM:
“[Kelly] used to be so accessible.”
And now… not. They went on to claim:
“She’d stand at your desk and just talk. Ask about your life. She knows the names of everyone’s husbands and kids and would ask about them by name. She’d talk and talk, and then she’d suddenly apologize for taking you away from your work. I was always like, ‘you’re the boss, you don’t need to apologize,’ and she’d laugh.”
All that has changed in the last week or so since Kelly’s return, the staffer claims. Handlers close to Clarkson are reportedly now purposely keeping her away from staff members — and thus, away from their questions and queries about what’s been happening, uh, Since U she’s Been Gone.
The source added:
“It’s just a very weird vibe now, and no one has any idea what’s going on. It’s really unsettling. It’s not knowing that really makes things hard for everyone. When you don’t know what’s going on, you just assume the worst. That’s human nature.”
Oof.
A second employee echoed those sentiments, too. First off, that insider claimed staffers have been told that nobody is losing their jobs, with producers allegedly insisting:
“The show’s going to go on and we’re all going to be fine.”
And yet the second employee was quick to note that everybody on set has been “walking on eggshells” lately regardless of what producers have been promising.
