Could the end of The Kelly Clarkson Show be near? That’s what a source says! They’re claiming she wants OUT! Out of New York AND out of the talk show space!
Sources told Page Six on Wednesday that after six years, the singer wants to quit her eponymous daytime show when her contract with NBC ends next year! What?! Why?! They say Kelly wants to spend more time with her 10-year-old daughter River and 8-year-old son Remy:
“Kelly’s number one priority is her children, and they always will be. The show is grueling. It’s a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South.”
As you may recall, Kelly moved to New York from Los Angeles in 2023 — taking The Kelly Clarkson Show with her. She explained that she felt “isolated” and far away from her family in North Carolina while living on the West Coast, so she moved closer to them. Not close enough, apparently! And she can’t do a talk show somewhere else without losing access to crew, a lot of A-list guests. We mean, people host podcasts from smaller cities, but not really talk shows. So moving would mean quitting.

However, the network doesn’t want to lose her! NBC executives reportedly are trying to figure out how to keep her! And they aren’t the only ones who don’t want to see her go! The fans would miss her, too! Viewers need their daily dose of Kellyoke! They could barely handle it when she mysteriously disappeared from the show for several episodes a couple of weeks ago!
As we previously reported, Kelly was absent for almost two weeks last month and had guest hosts fill in for her, causing concern among fans. Insiders claimed at the time that she was “completely fine” but had been “dealing with a personal matter that does not directly involve her.” So vague! The Behind These Hazel Eyes artist also hasn’t opened up about what exactly happened yet!
When Kelly returned, she celebrated the show reaching 1,000 episodes and said nothing about her absence! Instead, she gave an emotional speech about how she has “lost, alone, a lot” over the past six years. The Voice alum assured her audience that “it’s okay” but didn’t go into what she meant. She continued:
“And along the way, we found comfort in one another. And looking back, we are all incredibly proud of what we’ve built and the community we’ve created. I am grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey. It has been such a cool time. Thank you so much.”
Wait, was this low-key her saying goodbye to the talk show? We heard there has been a noticeable change in behavior from Kelly since her return! She was once “accessible” and talked to everyone on set, but has been purposefully staying away from staff once she was back on air. Everyone reportedly has been “walking on eggshells” and “fearing the worst.”
Sources also said producers told employees no one was losing their jobs and were “all going to be fine.” But you know corporations — they’ll tell you it’s fine right up until they pull the plug! And it sounds like unless NBC can come up with a plan to get Kelly to stick around, the show may be over! Could that be why she’s been pulling away from her staffers? She knows she’s leaving soon and is keeping her distance due to the bad news? Hmm.
At this time, Kelly has not made any announcements! We’ll find out its fate eventually! But in the meantime, what are your reactions, Perezcious readers? Would you be bummed if Kelly ends her show? Let us know in the comments below!
