Kelly's Steep Slide

We’re starting to really feel sorry for Kelly Clarkson. She keeps going from one low to another.
Her disastrous new album, My December, came in second on the U.S. album chart’s last week, debuting below Hannah Freaking Montana!
Now, in it’s second week in release, Kelly’s album is sliding much higher than usual, having a 61% drop off in sale – according to Hits Daily Double. The album sold 116,364 copies this week, good enough for the #3 spot on the album charts.
Clarkson, once again, came behind Miley Cyrus, whose Hannah Montana 2 album sold a healthier 186,567 copies and only had a 42% drop off in sales from last week.
T.I. took the top slot this week with his new record, T.I. vs T.I.P debuting at #1 with 465,984 albums sold.
The only other notable debut this week is Kelly Rowland. The former Destiny’s Child member’s second solo CD came in at #6 with 83,746.
Meanwhile, sources tell PerezHilton.com that RCA Records and its head honcho, Clive Davis, have all but abandoned any “future plans” to promote Kelly Clarkson’s new CD. Instead, Davis has moved onto Idol sweetheart Carrie Underwood‘s follow-up to her 6-million selling Some Hearts CD.
When Clarkson’s My December failed to debut at #1 last week, RCA pulled almost all of their summer campaign of tv and print spots and have moved on to Underwood’s much anticipated fall release, we are hearing.
Bummer.
Poor Kelly!
