UPDATE 4:47 P.M. EST: The lawyers behind Dr. Luke (AKA Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald) have released the following statement:
“Kesha’s false accusations have caused tremendous damage to Dr. Luke, his family and his businesses. Kesha’s recent court filing misstates and misrepresents an expert accountant’s calculations of certain revenue that Mr. Gottwald has lost as a result of Kesha’s false accusations. The ultimate amount of Dr. Luke’s damages is for a jury to decide.”

The ongoing legal battle between Kesha and Dr. Luke just ballooned into BIG numbers!
In legal docs obtained by The Blast, the producer is now claiming a whopping $50 million in damages from the singer who accused him of abuse.
Dr. Luke says he would have made $29.9 million in royalties and $8.7 million from co-writing fees if Kesha hadn’t made her claims.

He also included $10.2 mil from his potential future work with Katy Perry, who kicked him to the curb before making Witness.
Um, is that legally Kesha’s fault though? Katy easily could have made her own decision after listening to someone else’s story, right? Like, say, Kelly Clarkson, who says she willingly left millions of dollars on the table just to avoid him?
Kesha herself filed a similar legal response; she argued those inflated numbers are based on his past years of hits with top performers, whom she says he should not have expected to be able to get.
We’ll just have to see how the court rules.
