Kevin Federline is addressing Britney Spears‘ DUI for the first time.
As we previously reported, the 44-year-old pop star was arrested for driving under the influence in Los Angeles on Wednesday night after cops claimed she was speeding and swerving in and out of lanes. Britney reportedly told law enforcement she only had “one single mimosa in the afternoon,” but they found an alleged “unknown substance” inside her car. Sources familiar with the situation claimed she had Adderall in her possession at the time of her arrest, and the pills are being tested at this time to determine if they contain pure Adderall or an additional substance.

Shortly after her arrest, we heard that K-Fed’s tell-all memoir led to her trouble with the law. A source said the book sent Britney into a “downhill” spiral. Now, Kevin is hoping she gets the help she needs. His attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ on Friday:
“Kevin hopes for the best for Britney and if help is necessary, he hopes that she will neither resist it or those who are attempting to work with her. The concern is whether this is just a one off or a one more.”
Kaplan added that he and Kevin have been in communication since the arrest, but they have no further knowledge about what happened beyond what has already been reported.
Hopefully, her support system can rally around and help her during this time. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below).
