Kevin Hart is now recovering after undergoing surgery late Sunday night, less than 24 hours after seriously injuring his back in that scary car accident on which we’ve been reporting.
Sources close to the comedian are now confirming the fact that doctors evidently did complete “successful back surgery” on Kevin. According to media reports, the comedian is expected to remain in the hospital for “at least a couple of days while he recovers.”

Not only is he apparently going to be fine while recovering from the surgery, TMZ even caught up with the comedian’s wife, Eniko Hart, who broke news on video that the funnyman and Jumanji star was “going to be just fine.” Eniko was spotted on her way into the hospital on Sunday morning, apparently after a coffee run following what must have been a very, very long night for her and all of Kevin’s friends, family, and loved ones. (You can watch that video HERE, by the way.)
As for Jared Black, the man who was apparently driving Hart’s vintage Plymouth Barracuda when the accident occurred, he was also seriously injured when he was pinned inside the crushed vehicle at the bottom of the embankment. We now know he’s been at UCLA Medical Center in west Los Angeles, and though his injuries are also apparently major, he is recovering well with family members surrounding him.
Broxterman — who is Hart’s personal trainer and Black’s fiancé — was initially pinned in the backseat due to the wreck. Thankfully for her, though, it does not appear as though she sustained any major injuries, and it doesn’t sound like she’ll require surgery or anything.

As we reported about Kevin’s injuries earlier this morning, insiders in the know are claiming the back injury “is not a spinal cord injury,” and Kevin has thus far been “able to walk and move his extremities.” That’s a huge relief, obviously. And yet still, the possibility of surgery turned out to be very real as doctors determined it was necessary to stabilize and help his back after the accident.
Scary, scary stuff all around… and it sounds like things could’ve gone much worse than they did! Here’s hoping and praying for a full recovery for everybody involved in the accident, and good thoughts to the family, friends, and loved ones living through this with them! Such a terrible and uncertain ordeal to go through!!!
