Man, you know you’ve pissed people off when they don’t even want to hear your support after such a horrific incident!
Kevin Hart was one of many celebs who reached out after the brutal homophobic, racist attack on Jussie Smollett.

He posted on Instagram and Twitter, telling the Empire actor to “stay strong” and making a plea for love over hate:
A sweet sentiment, but considering the source we aren’t surprised it caused a collective eye roll.
The thing is, much of the LGBT community still doesn’t feel Kevin quite apologized for his jokes — the ones which embraced homophobic violence.
He may have done the whole “sorry you got offended” thing, but quite a few folks didn’t see the contrition.
And they didn’t mind pointing out to the Upside star how his words of support are ringing hollow now. See some of the strongest responses (below):
Do you see why the “jokes” weren’t funny now??

But keep joking about beating up your kid for being gay, Kevin Hart!

Even Ellen DeGeneres didn’t go completely unscathed for her part in defending Hart…
And less than four weeks ago, you sat across from Kevin Hart and said "Don't let those people win.” But “those people” whom you described as “haters” were queer black people hoping that you’d take the relationship between language and violence more seriously. https://t.co/k7uW8xG9gf

Is this not the right time to castigate Kevin? Is it the perfect time to illustrate to him the type of violence his jokes embraced??
(And is Kevin trying to use this as a PR op??)
What do YOU think?
