Kevin Hart Is 'Done' Talking About His Oscars Controversy: 'I'm Over It'

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart will no longer be addressing his Oscars controversy.
The comedian stopped by Good Morning America on Wednesday to set the record straight yet again on his past harmful remarks about the LGBT community.
But he’s made it crystal clear this time that he is OVER IT, he will NOT be talking about it, and wants everyone else to let it go too.

If you’ve been following the drama from the start, it’s been well documented that the 39-year-old has said he’s sorry multiple times over. His sit-down with GMA‘s Michael Strahan marks the fourth time overall, and third apology in two months.
So, it’s honestly not surprising that Kevin has come to the end of his line, telling the daytime TV host in a rather hostile tone:

“I’m over it. There’s no more conversation about it … I’m over that, I’m over the moment. I’m not giving no more explanation of who I am, I’m just done.”

This all comes just 24 hours after addressing the backlash in a lengthy segment on his SiriusXM radio show Straight to the Hart, that truly dissected every angle of this thing.
The Jumanji star was unwavering in his defense that he’s “said everything [he] can possibly say,” adding:

“If you didn’t [hear the apology], I don’t know what you’re looking for. I’m a good person, I love to love, if you don’t see that then it’s a problem with you.”

When asked if there was a possibility that the Night School actor could still host the big show, he simply said “no,” adding that it’s just way too late to prepare. The actors has been booked and busy lately, with the Jumanji sequel set to start filming next month.
As for hosting in the future? The funny man replied:

“It’s hard to predict what can happen. I don’t want people to think there’s a thing about me and the Academy.”

Hmm, it’s not a stretch to think that the Academy might invite Hart back in the future — the buzz surrounding it would surely draw in viewership, but then again it could absolutely distract from the night, too. Something Kevin didn’t want in the first place.
Guess those controversial attempts from good pal Ellen DeGeneres to get his gig back might have been for nothing… but who knows.
Thoughts, Perezcious readers? Are we collectively letting go of this controversy, or does Kevin need to prove he’s sincere in his apology just a bit more?
