Kim Kardashian Defends Against Blackface Accusations, Says She Was Just 'Really Tan'!

kim kardashian addresses blackface controversy
Kim Kardashian-West wants fans to know that she did NOT intentionally do blackface in her first campaign for KKW Beauty.
As we previously reported, the KUWTK starlet was DRAGGED online after she seemingly posed in blackface for promo pics for her new beauty line. Awkward!

In typical KarJenner fashion, Kanye West‘s wife was quick to address the controversy by apologizing for the inadvertent scandal in a high profile interview. While chatting with the New York Times, the A-lister explained:

“I would obviously never want to offend anyone. I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.”

To be fair, we doubt Kimmie would ever intentionally do blackface as she’s the mother of two biracial children. But would any of these people “in the business” even tell her if they thought she was doing something a little tone deaf?
The reality TV vet has since learned from the backlash as she continued:

“Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it.”

Smart PR move, girl. The businesswoman even made sure to release new promo photos on her Instagram (below):

MUCHHHHHH better — which is a good thing since Kim is moving forward with the Wednesday release of her Cr├â┬¿me Contour and Highlight Kit. The celebutante even made sure to promise that the kit will allow fans to use the same “correction” tricks she utilizes. In regards to what she wears daily, Kardashian-West told the NYT:

“I’ve always stayed true to contour. I’d say that for the past six months, I haven’t been wearing much makeup, but I try to have a little bit of a bronzy look that’s really beautiful and really creamy-looking. That’s why the sticks are cream. There’s no setting powder. But you can make it a heavier contour by adding a setting powder on top of the cream contour…Having kids really changes it up.”

Fair point. What do YOU think?? Has Kim made up for her blackface snafu??
