You can’t take the Kardashian out of L.A. — so don’t even try, Kanye West.
A Kardashian source has confirmed that although the Kardashian-Wests recently purchased a house in Chicago, Illinois, Kim Kardashian West will be keeping the family in Los Angeles full time.

The insider dished to Us Weekly:
“The family will continue to be based in Calabasas, where the kids will go to school. Yes, they have bought a house in Chicago, where they will spend a lot of time. It’s extremely important to Kim that the children know where their father came from and to spend as much time there as possible.”
Still, Kim was reportedly less than thrilled when Kanye announced he was moving back to his hometown during an Open Mike session with Chance The Rapper this week.
While the makeup mogul is down to fly to Chi-Town every now and then, she reportedly can’t imagine living anywhere outside El Lay full time. Another insider told The Sun:
“She’s never lived anywhere but LA, and she’s upset that Kanye is saying things like this publicly when they haven’t even talked about moving. She’s told him it’s not happening… She knows Kanye loves Chicago and it makes him feel close to his roots, but there’s no way she’d consider moving full time.”
The source added that the KUWTK star is “too exhausted to think about moving again,” seeing as she just finished the second renovations on her and Kanye’s $20 million mansion.

But she understands the Windy City has its perks, too. The Us source added:
“Chicago is a place where the family can unwind a bit and not be hounded by photographers. Kanye has also been spending a lot more time with his dad, which also played a role in the decision to put down roots there.”
The Ghost Town performer has been in a Chicago state of mind lately. He tweeted earlier this month about opening a Yeezy office there as well as teaching a class at the Art Institute of Chicago.
The school said there were no plans to give Kanye a position there, but we’re sure he’ll be just as happy yelling about consumerism to an empty auditorium while Kim and the kids stay behind in La La Land.
