Cultural appropriation icon Kim Kardashian West has generously offered to come through financially for a protester who was seriously injured by rubber bullets shot by police officers during this past weekend’s nationwide protests.
The 39-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to Twitter with an offer of assistance in reaction to seeing a horrifying photo go viral. The pic showed a young woman’s severe forehead injury suffered when police started shooting rubber bullets at nonviolent protesters during a George Floyd remembrance and protest walk in Louisville, Kentucky over the weekend.

Horrified by the initial picture, Kim shared the image on her personal account on Monday afternoon. You can see it (below), but be warned, the photo shows a very disturbing gash in the poor girl’s forehead, with her eye swollen shut and blood dripping down and across her face.
Here’s the pic (below):
This is heartbreaking and so disturbing. Does anyone know how I can get in contact with her? I would love to help her with her medical care if she needs it. pic.twitter.com/37zA65QXau

OMG!
That poor girl… she looks so young, too. We understand and can certainly respect that police officers want to get large groups of people off the street, but is this really the aftermath they want from those actions??? Ugh…
Kim has quickly linked up with the young woman thanks to the help of other users, so it appears as though the reality TV star and business mogul will be able to use her wealth of resources for good here. Bravo, Kim! We love to see it!!!
‘I Am Exhausted’
As they have for so many of us around the country, the protests (and oftentimes disturbing police response) have weighed heavily on her heart over the last few days.
Over the weekend, Kanye West‘s wife took to the same social media site to address the ongoing situation around the country, while showing her support for the movement in a series of emotional, meaningful messages, as you can see here:
Inspiring!
All this is not to say Kim hasn’t been SUPER problematic on certain race-related issues — most especially when it comes to fashion and beauty trends — but at least the famous TV star understands some of her privileges in this context and is willing to (quite literally) put her money where her mouth is. Baby steps?
What do y’all think about this, Perezcious readers? What’s your take on this past week of protests and civil unrest in general?
