Scary.
With her due date rapidly approaching, Kim Kardashian West is being completely transparent about the health risks involved with her second pregnancy.
The first time around with North, the 35-year-old suffered from a condition called preclampsia, which forced her to be induced into labor early in an effort to protect her and the baby.
In addition, the placenta — which is supposed to naturally be released after the delivery — was still attached to the uterus (placenta accreta). Because the doctor had to scrape the placenta by hand from the uterine wall, this was a contributing factor to Kim’s pregnancy struggles.

Fortunately, Kanye West‘s wife was able to conceive again, but with increased risks. In her latest blog post High-Risk Pregnancy, the KUWTK star admits she’s anxious heading into this birth:
“With the issues I had last time, my risk of having preclampsia and placenta acreeta are increased and there’s not a whole lot I can do to prevent it, so my anxiety is a little high leading up to my delivery. In a very rare case, I might need a hysterectomy after delivery if my condition is severe enough, but luckily my doctor doesn’t think this will happen. So as time goes on, I am stressing out less and trying to go with the flow.”
We can understand her nerves!!
We certainly hope this isn’t the case!
In a new promo for season 11 of the E! reality show, Miz West also talks about potentially having gestational diabetes — as if she didn’t have enough to worry about!
It sounds like she has an amazing medical team on her side (her doctor also delivered her as a baby!), and she says she’s remaining “hopeful.”
You’ve got this, Keeks!
