That was a close one!
Kim Zolciak just dodged a major legal headache in her ugly divorce war with Kroy Biermann. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star was staring down the possibility of jail time if she didn’t pay money she owed in the case — but she took care of it just in time.

According to TMZ on Monday, a Georgia judge had previously ordered Kim to pay $2,535 in unpaid fees to the guardian ad litem appointed in the couple’s divorce. The guardian was brought in to interview Kim, Kroy, and their four minor children before making custody recommendations to the court. And the order wasn’t just a slap on the wrist, either. TMZ reports the judge warned Kim she could have been incarcerated if the bill wasn’t paid by next month.
Whoa!
But, thankfully for Kim, crisis averted! Sources told the outlet on Monday that Kim actually paid the balance in full (!) last Tuesday, taking the threat of jail off the table before things could get even messier.
Of course, this is just the latest twist in one of reality TV’s most exhausting breakups. Kim and Kroy have spent years fighting over custody, money, and just about everything else.
The guardian ad litem has even become part of the drama, with Kim arguing in court that the guardian wasn’t taking her allegations about Kroy seriously — while the former Atlanta Falcons star pushed back on Kim’s claims and denied the guardian was unfairly targeting her.
Meanwhile, the family tension doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Kim’s daughter Brielle Biermann recently revealed she hasn’t spoken to Kroy in quite some time and doesn’t expect him to attend her upcoming wedding.
Oof.
One thing’s for sure: this divorce just keeps delivering new drama. But at least for now, Kim can cross “possible jail time” off her list of problems.
