In anticipation of World AIDS Day on December 1st, Designers Against AIDS and the gay-lesbian federation of Antwerp have joined forces with Belgium’s Sensoa and The Pink House, two HIV and STD awareness organizations, to organize and unusual and fun benefit: Knitting Against AIDS.
The benefit is pretty straightforward: Designers Against AIDS is asking as many people as possible to to knit their own unique scarf to be donoated and subsequently sold for fundraising during Take-Care-Week (the week leading up to World AIDS Day) in Antwerp. One hundred percent of sales will benefit AIDS research and the Care-for-AIDS Fund.
What’s more, famous designers and artists will also participate in the event by knitting their own scarves. These scarves will be auctioned, with the proceeds benefiting the cause. These scarves will also be showcased by celebrities in an exclusive photo shoot.
All you have to do to get involved is knit your own scarf and send it in to Designers Against AIDS by November 15th! Click here for full details on where to send it.
How cool! What a fun way to get involved!
