Can Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard just adopt us all? Seriously, these two have got this cool parenting thing on lock!
As you’re likely aware, the adorable couple shares two daughters together, Lincoln, 7, and Delta, 5, and have revealed the young ladies are really keeping them on their toes with all of this extended family time at home during the quarantine.

While appearing remotely on Thursday’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Good Place actress shared a hilarious story about an uncomfortable question her firstborn asked when she and her husband were trying to sneak away for some private alone time.
If your mind is in the gutter right now, you’re not alone! That’s exactly where Lincoln’s mind went when her parents said they were stepping out for a hike one afternoon. Bell recalled:
“We tried to steal away for a hike the other day. My sister was here watching the kids. We masked up and we were like, ‘Oh, we’ll just walk down the streets. There’s a great hike near our house.'”
OK, here’s where things got really interesting:
“And on our way out the door, my 7-year-old stood in the door and she held it open. She goes, ‘Uh, are you going to do a sex?'”
LOLz! Oh man, the old saying is so true! Kids really do say the darndest things! She continued:
“It caught us by surprise. We’ve talked to her about what sex is, but she’s never, we’ve never talked about us doing it.”
But that’s when Shepard chimed in with a reply that wasn’t exactly a dad joke! She quipped:
“Dax just really quickly said, ‘We’d love to, but it’s illegal publicly. Bye!’ and closed the door.”
OMG! We can only imagine the look on their daughter’s face at that moment. During her chat with Colbert, Kristen laughed it all off, but heck, who’s to say they haven’t considered that risqué move at some point? Just maybe not during the middle of a global pandemic, though!
Aside from that funny moment, the 40-year-old actress has always been transparent about having “the talk” with her kids.

Back in March, she told listeners on the Motherly Podcast why it’s important for her children to be fully informed when it comes to sex. At the time, she said:
“I do feel strongly about that…There is nothing wrong with knowing how the penis works and how the vagina works.”
The Bad Moms star added:
“I just don’t understand the American shame in that. In fact, I think it equips them to understand pregnancy way better. The agency they have over their bodies to say, ‘Oh yeah, this is how it works…Daddy has a penis, mommy has a vagina. Here’s how it works. And here’s the part of daddy’s DNA and the part of mommy’s DNA that grows you like a seed.’ And by the way, they’re so bored by the second sentence.”
Well, based on this story it sounds like they didn’t tune everything out, now, did they? Ha!
