Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are known for some controversial parenting styles — but is this taking things a little far??
On Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Good Place alum revealed she and her hubby let their young daughters, Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, explore an international amusement park ALL BY THEMSELVES! Huh?!?
Discussing their “free-range parenting,” the actress explained:
“We stayed at this hotel that was right at Tivoli Gardens.”
That’s an amusement park in Denmark, BTW. Because they were so close to the fun spot, the parents ended up letting the kids hang out there all day without them.

She recalled:
“The hotel opens up into the theme park and so we just were kind of like, ‘Are we going to free-range parenting and roll the die here?’ They woke up at like 6:00 every morning. They scanned their bracelets to go outside. We didn’t see them for seven hours. Just running around Copenhagen.”
Um, yikes!! We’d be so scared something might happen to them. We’ve heard far too many horror stories, you know?
But, thankfully, everything was fine and the couple thought the experience was “heaven,” Kristen joked:
“We just had coffee, we played Spades, and then around 3:00 we’d be like, ‘Anybody see them?’ And then one of them would run up and need a Band-Aid or whatever.”
Wow! When the late night host wondered if “that was OK,” she said the kids were “both alive” and the whole family “returned home.” Plus, she added that the girls were allowed on the rides without an adult since “it’s real loosey goosey over there.” Hah!

Seems like this was ultimately a blast for everyone, but we’d be worried about the rare scenario where something did go wrong and they didn’t have an adult keeping an eye out! They got so lucky, honestly!
