We now know the identity of Kristin Cavallari‘s beau — but only after they are already OVER!
Late in December, the 38-year-old former reality star revealed on the Dumb Blonde podcast that she is “kinda dating someone else now” following the breakup with her much younger beau, Mark Estes. However, she wouldn’t say the guy’s name.
She did drop some clues, saying he is a “retired athlete” who “has so much depth” and “checks all the boxes” — like that he is 40 with kids! It wasn’t much to go on, but fans apparently managed to take what little Kristin had to say and figure it out! They guessed correctly that Kristin was seeing…

Nate checked everything we knew about him from Kristin! The guy is 40. He is a retired hockey player who previously played for multiple teams, including the Boston Bruins, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Anaheim Ducks, and the Philadelphia Flyers, to name a few. He shares two children with two different women. So yeah, he fits!
Kristin confirmed what the internet sleuths already know on Tuesday’s new episode of her Let’s Be Honest podcast, admitting she dated Nate! Emphasis on dated! Past tense. As in, they are no longer together! This was an identity confirmation AND a breakup announcement rolled into one!
The Laguna Beach alum said his name to listeners for the first time since “TikTok f**king detectives” already “pieced together” everything from her clues on the Dumb Blonde podcast. Plus, there is also the fact that they called it quits! She said:
“I don’t even care. I said his name on [my podcast] tour. I really think he’s such a great guy. … He is someone who has done a lot of work on himself.”
During their time together, Kristin shared that she and Nate “connected on such a deep level.” In fact, it was “one of the deeper relationships” she has had — even though they were only together for a “short” amount of time. According to the Uncommon James founder, the pair “didn’t hold back anything” and “told each other f**king everything” as they had such an “honest, pure, amazing” connection. Nate and Kristin were “mostly long distance” while dating but made sure to keep in touch as much as possible through voice notes, FaceTime calls, phone calls [and] texting.”
Wow!
It sounds like Kristin found herself a winner! Someone she really had such a strong connection to! So why the heck did she ice him out? Kristin explained there was something “missing” with Nate — chemistry! She spilled:
“That attraction piece for me has to be so on fire for me to want to be with someone. I have gone out with amazing men, and this guy is a good example of that. Why can’t I fall in love with you?”
Despite “firing on all other cylinders,” the television personality just felt there wasn’t a “flame” with Nate! Not like the one she had with Mark, apparently! Kristin said:
“I need in the beginning to want to rip your f**king clothes off. I need compatibility and chemistry. I understand that what I’m searching for is rare. … I’m not gonna settle for anything less than exactly what I want.”
And she shouldn’t settle! No one should!
However, all this is not to say she wasn’t into Nate! She was! Kristin clarified she was “attracted to” him and “had fun” when “he came and stayed with [her] for New Year’s.” The spark just wasn’t fully there at the end of the day, though. So The Hills star is back to square one! She has reactivated her Raya account but made it clear she is not “hoe-ing it up” after the split! Kristin said she has not even had many hookups since divorcing Jay Cutler, noting it has been an “absurd[ly]” small amount.
Still, it sounds like Kristin is single and ready to mingle again! Who will she date next? No athletes! She mentioned on the episode that she is “done” dating still-competing players!
