Lady GaGa’s momma has a knack for matchmaking!
Perezcious readers will recall that the 38-year-old singer hard launched her relationship with Michael Polansky when she packed on the PDA with him while ringing in the New Year at a party in Vegas in 2020. They then became Instagram official the following month. Fast forward four years, and now the couple is engaged! GaGa confirmed the engagement rumors after introducing Michael as her “fiancé” at the 2024 Paris Olympics in July. Amazing!

However, their sweet story may have never happened if her mother did not get involved!! It turns out Cynthia Germanotta was the one who set the Bad Romance artist up with her man! GaGa said in an interview with Access Hollywood on Monday:
“My mom, she said, ‘I just met your husband.’ And I was like, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!’ I was being silly.”
But the Joker star eventually thought, hey, why the heck not! GaGa took her mom up on the offer to introduce her to Michael! They met at a birthday party at the home of Sean Parker, who is the founder of the Parker Foundation alongside Michael. The musician recalled:
“He was at a birthday party at Sean Parker’s house. I went to the party and I met him, and he was just the most amazing man I’d ever met. We talked for, like, three hours and then I couldn’t find him, but then he called me.”
As they say, the rest was history! And now, GaGa is forever “grateful” to her momma for pushing her toward Michael:
“I’m really grateful for my mom’s advice. You don’t always take your mom’s advice, but mom did good!”
