What a crazy huge accomplishment!
Dutch teen Laura Dekker is the youngest person to have completed a solo boating journey around the world.
The girl celebrated her 16th birthday on her 38-foot yacht “Guppy” during the voyage before she finally sailed into the port on the island of St. Maarten. She traveled 27,000 miles around the world.
The task is so dangerous that even the Guinness Book of World Records and the World Sailing Speed Council refuse to allow the journey in their records because they don’t want to encourage others to do the same.
So, what did she do when she completed the journey? Eat a burger and fries, of course.
Ha!
Congrats Laura! You are one tough, and very brave, cookie.
Watch her story above!
