We know by now Cory Monteith had unfortunate demons that led to his untimely death.
But it’s absolutely heartbreaking to hear his devoted girlfriend, Lea Michele, did everything she could to help with his battle, including an alleged ultimatum.
Lea was completely blindsided when she found out about his relapse in March 2013, according to a source. She apparently staged an intervention for Cory with the help of his friends at Ryan Murphy‘s home.
She reportedly told him:
“Clean up or I├óΓé¼Γäóm out of here.”
After Cory checked into rehab on March 30, Lea showed her support for him by tweeting:
“I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”
The Glee star seemed receptive to the intervention, and after his voluntary rehab stay, looked to be on the path to clean living.
Despite his efforts to get sober, Cory’s apparent drug use started right back up after rehab. A source explained:
“He left too soon. It was a lifelong problem, not something that was a quick fix.”
So unfortune.
So much talent.
