There may be proof that waiter DID sell Liam Payne drugs after all… despite his claims of innocence.
On Sunday, Argentinian news outlet Infobae reported that five individuals were officially charged in connection to the late One Direction alum’s death. Not three as was initially expected! The suspects include hotel Casasur Palermo Hotel managers Gilda Martín and Esteban Grassi, both charged with manslaughter, Liam’s friend Roger Nores, who was charged with negligent homicide, and waiter Braian Nahuel Paiz as well as fellow hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra, who were both charged with supplying narcotics for payment.
We’ve previously covered Braian’s firm denial of ever having sold Liam drugs. He did admit to using cocaine with the Strip That Down singer in the nights before his death but NOT selling to him. But new WhatsApp messages may tell another story…

According to The US Sun, Judge Laura Bruniard reviewed leaked WhatsApp messages exchanged between Liam and Braian which allegedly prove the latter DID sell the former drugs. Per the outlet, said messages played a major role in securing the criminal charge against the waiter.
At this time, it’s not exactly clear what the messages read, but Braian’s legal team is standing firm in their claim that no payment was exchanged for the drugs their client did with Liam. However, leaked texts between a bellboy and Esteban Grassi detail an attempt on Liam’s end to secure drugs. According to DailyMail.com, Grassi claimed he was texted by the bellboy on October 14 — two days before Liam’s death — notifying him that the singer asked for cocaine when the employee dropped off a fruit basket at his room. The message reads:
“He invited me [in] to his room (which was a disaster, by the way) and asked me if I could get him cocaine. I replied, ‘I apologise sir, but neither I nor any of the staff can help you with that type of service,’ to which he replied that I was ‘useless’ and that I should get out of his sight. I felt a little intimidated, since his manner was not very polite.”
Yikes… Braian is said to have been in Liam’s company for the two nights before his death, which aligns with the timeline Grassi provided in the texts. Did he get in contact with Braian after his failed attempt to secure drugs through the bellboy?
In additional leaked texts shared on VíaSzeta, a number from Florida — where Liam lived with girlfriend Kate Cassidy — asks an escort to “party” in exchange for $5,000. The message reads:
“I have all day… I’d gift you $5,000… US dollars. You come to my hotel, we party, just me and u.”
The escort reportedly accepted the offer.
