Could Liam Payne‘s $30,000 watch have been stolen the day he died?!
According to a local Argentinian newspaper La Nación, the One Direction singer was wearing a Rolex the day he fell from the third story of his hotel in Buenos Aires — and police can’t find it.

Photos of Liam from that fateful day back in October show he was definitely still wearing the luxury watch just two hours before his death. Detectives told the outlet:
“We know, from images that were analyzed, that Payne was wearing a Rolex on the day of his death. He was wearing it in one of his hands and he had it for at least two to three hours before he jumped into the void. We looked for it in the room at the CasaSur hotel where he was staying and we couldn’t find it.”
Despite raiding the hotel room NINE times last week, law enforcement weren’t able to recover the watch. They also searched the homes of people connected to Liam’s death:
“The watch was searched for at the homes of the people accused of the crimes of abandonment of a person and supply and facilitation of narcotics and at the homes of the two prostitutes who were with Payne in the room the afternoon of his death.”
The Rolex is still being searched for, and they’re going to look in the hotel again, but so far they’ve come up with nothing.
It seems highly probably the watch could’ve been stolen, considering the hefty price tag. Though maybe it’s possible he dropped it somewhere in the hotel in his near-catatonic intoxicated state? So sad to think one of his prized possessions won’t be returned to his family! Hopefully police are able to recover it…
Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
