Liam Payne Did NOT Die By Suicide

More new information about Liam Payne‘s tragic death is coming out.

In the weeks since the 31-year-old singer died after jumping from his fourth-story hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires while on multiple drugs last month, there has been speculation about what happened to him. One of the main things people wondered? Did Liam die by suicide? Now, Argentina’s National Prosecutor’s Office for Criminal and Correctional Matters gave us an answer to the question.

Prosecutors officially confirmed the One Direction alum did NOT take his own life when he went over the balcony. How did they rule suicide out? When Liam fell from the balcony, he suffered from “polytraumatism,” which is when someone sustains multiple injuries that can be life-threatening and “internal and external hemorrhage.” Prosecutors stressed the injuries he had “were compatible with those produced by a fall from a height and that self-injury of any kind and/or the physical intervention of third parties were ruled out.” So, that meant he did not commit suicide. What further proves it? We have to talk about the toxicology report.

As we mentioned before, Liam had several drugs in his system at the time of his death, with initial reports claiming he had cocaine, crack, benzodiazepine, and “pink cocaine” — a mixture of ketamine, methamphetamine, MDMA, and other drugs. But according to the lengthy statement prosecutors released on Thursday, he only had “traces in his body of a poly-consumption of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescribed antidepressant” before his death and “during at least his last 72 hours.” It turned out to be a dangerous mix.

When the incident happened, the statement said Liam was in “a state of semi- or total unconsciousness” — so he did not “adopt a reflexive posture to protect himself in the fall.” He most likely was unconscious due to the substances in his system at the time. With all that in mind, prosecutors determined he did not die by suicide. The statement said:

“For the prosecution, this situation would also rule out the possibility of a conscious or voluntary act on the part of the victim, since, in the state he was in, he did not know what he was doing and could not understand it.”

So awful…

This confirmation comes amid news three people were arrested and charged with abandonment of a person followed by death, as well as the supply and facilitation of narcotics. While the names of three individuals have not been revealed yet, we do know that the suspects are a friend who was with Liam every day during his stay in Buenos Aires, a hotel worker who supplied the musician with cocaine, and an alleged “drug supplier.”
