Lil' Wayne Stands By His Decision To Pull Nicki Minaj From Hot 97 Summer Jam!

He has his artist’s back! And more importantly, he has his GURL’s back!
We challenge anyone to fault him for that!
Lil’ Wayne is finally speaking up regarding his decision to pull Nicki Minaj from her headlining gig at New York City’s annual Hot 97 Summer Jam two weeks ago, and still maintains that he did the right thing!
Why? Because Her Minajesty deserved respect, and Weezy feels she was not given that when DJ Peter Rosenberg dissed her single, Starships, before she went on!
He explains:

“That’s a female; first and foremost Nicki Minaj is a female. I don’t know what anyone else believes, but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times no matter, when or where or how. As soon as she called me and told me she felt disrespected, I just declined everything. I pulled her from the show because├óΓé¼┬ªno person that works with me will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet. I expect the red carpet, in her manner; the pink carpet should be laid out for her. It’s just an executive move├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥no salt, no bad feelings, no hard feelings. I feel like a woman should be respected at all times, therefore I made the right decision.”

Bravo to that!
He obviously cares a great deal for all of the artists on his roster, and will defend their integrity – especially when someone goes out of their way to insult their music right before they’re scheduled to go on!
We mean, c’mon! What was he thinking?
Sometimes we all need to be reminded that a little respect goes a long way!
