Lilly Pulitzer Fans Are Extremely Upset At Fat-Shaming Illustrations Discovered At The Company's Headquarters!

This is rather sad.
A recent article on the corporate headquarters of Lilly Pulitzer inadvertently shed light on an employee’s fat-shaming illustrations (above) hanging inside her cubicle.
When the photos were first published, fans of the brand wrongfully believed the illustrations were pinned in a communal space (like the refrigerator) at the company’s offices, and that the company was promoting fat-shaming.

It was later revealed that the drawings — one of which reads “another day of fat, white, and hideous, you should probably just kill yourself” while another states “put it down carb face” — were actually the personal property of an employee.
Nevertheless the tweets expressing concern and anger at the brand’s supposed fat-shaming bulletin board prompted a response from Lilly Pulitzer spokesperson Jane Schoenborn:

“These illustrations were the work of one individual and were posted in her personal work area. While we are an employer that does encourage people to decorate their own space, we are a female-dominated company and these images do not reflect our values. We apologize for any harm this may have caused.”

It’s good to know that the brand doesn’t stand by these hateful, body-shaming beliefs, but we can’t help but wish that whoever drew those pictures didn’t feel so bad about her body, as the images seem to imply.
