Lindsey Vonn Gives COMPLETELY Unexpected Update About Her Skiing Career!

Just when you thought Lindsey Vonn had said her final goodbye to the slopes, the Olympic legend is out here shaking things up in a way nobody saw coming!

After that absolutely terrifying Olympic crash back in February that left fans gasping and honestly fearing the worst, Lindsey is finally speaking out again. And let’s just say, she is not ready to let that brutal moment define her story.

In her first sit-down since the accident, Lindsey opened up to Vanity Fair about the sheer nightmare she endured following the crash. We’re talking next-level pain, the kind that even what she called “monster amounts” of heavy-duty meds couldn’t touch.

Doctors reportedly threw everything they had at her just to keep her comfortable, but it barely made a dent. And while the physical trauma alone sounds unimaginable, the emotional toll may have been just as intense, knowing her iconic career could potentially end on such a devastating note.

But if you think Lindsey is quietly accepting that fate, think again. She made it crystal clear during the interview that she’s not closing any doors just yet:

“I don’t like to close the door on anything, because you just never know what’s going to happen.”

And honestly? That mindset feels very on-brand for a woman who has built her career on defying odds and pushing limits.

She didn’t stop there either! She got candid about just how uncertain her future looks right now, and how open-ended it truly is:

“I have no idea what my life will be like in two years or three years or four years. I could have two kids by then. I could have no kids and want to race again. I could live in Europe. I could be doing anything.”

Translation: Lindsey is keeping ALL options on the table, and that absolutely includes a possible return to skiing. Yes, really.

Still, she’s not sugarcoating how rough things have been. In fact, she got brutally honest about the injury itself and that final, fateful run:

“It’s hard to tell with this injury. It’s so f**ked up. I really feel like that was a horrible last run to end my career on … I only made it 13 seconds. But they were a really good 13 seconds.”

Oof. You can practically feel the frustration and heartbreak in those words.

And maybe that’s exactly why she’s not necessarily ready to walk away. Lindsey made it clear she refuses to let that crash become the defining image of her legacy:

“I don’t want people to hang on this crash and be remembered for that. What I did before the Olympics has never been done before. I was number one in the standings. No one remembers that I was winning.”

Let’s not forget, she was absolutely dominating before the accident. According to her team, she was in peak physical condition heading into the Games — which makes this whole situation even more bittersweet.

For now, Lindsey is still deep in recovery mode, using a wheelchair at home while very slowly working her way back in the gym. It’s going to be a long road, no doubt. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned about Vonn over the years, it’s that counting her out is a huge mistake. So, while a comeback might sound wild right now, with Lindsey? Never say never.
