Lisa Kudrow ‘Recently Found’ Secret Note From Matthew Perry In Friends Gift He Gave Her Over 2 Decades Ago!

The one where Lisa Kudrow discovered a special note from a late friend…

When the cast of Friends finished filming the final episode in 2004, Matthew Perry gave the actress a touching gift — the cookie jar prop from the set that was in the shape of a clock and said “Cookie Time” on the front (see above inset). She shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2020 the significance of the item:

“We were shooting a scene years before we finished. My line was, ‘Ohhh, I’m late. I better get going,’ and it was too late when I realized I don’t have a watch. As the words were coming out I went, ‘Oh good there’s a clock,’ and I gestured to that and said, ‘Oh look at the time. I better get going.’”

Ha! Following the scene, Lisa recalled Matthew coming up to her and asking:

“Did you point to the cookie jar and say, ‘Look at the time’?”

Well, she did! And the realization of what happened had the pair “laughing hysterically and crying.” So, when Matthew and Lisa wrapped the series, he gave the cookie jar to her to commemorate one of her hilarious moments! It is a very sweet gift! But Lisa didn’t realize until over two decades later that her co-star put an super special momento inside the present. What was it? It wasn’t a cookie! LOLz! It was something super special for her to have, especially after he passed away from the acute effects of ketamine in October 2023.

The Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion star found a note from Matthew, and it happened “recently!” Wow! She revealed during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday:

“Matthew gave that to me at the end of our last episode. I had recently found the note that he had in it for me. I hadn’t opened it up or looked inside of it. But yeah, he did. He had a note in there and I forgot about it.”

How amazing! Lisa didn’t reveal what the message said. She’s keeping that to herself, at least for now. However, she noted that “timing is everything.” And no doubt she will cherish this note from her late pal forever.
