Thank goodness that Lisa Vanderpump made it to Kentucky in time for the big reality TV wedding!
The Vanderpump Rules star had been back at home in the United Kingdom dealing with the sudden, unexpected death of her mother and the aftermath involved in all of that over the past week, but surprisingly, she WAS able to make it back to small-town Kentucky last night to celebrate Saturday’s nuptials between Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright! Bittersweet… but good news!

The mother of the bride, Sherri Cartwright, broke the news on Instagram late Friday with a posted picture showing Lisa and her husband, Ken, down home in Kentucky and ready for the VPR wedding of the century!

Obviously, the 58-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been mourning the sudden and unexpected death of her own mother, Jean, and she dropped everything just over a week ago to head back to the United Kingdom to care for her family’s affairs there.

According to a source, even with Vanderpump back in the States for the Taylor-Cartwright wedding, she’s still working to plan her mother’s funeral and more back across the pond. The source revealed to People (below):
“[Lisa] is still planning her mom’s funeral and figuring out her travel plans for the UK. She’s trying to stay strong for her family.”
No doubt this must be an extremely difficult and bittersweet time for Lisa, and the entire cast around the tight-knit, popular reality TV show. It’s a big surprise to have her in Kentucky for the wedding, though, because just days ago Cartwright herself was expecting Lisa NOT to show up, because of her mother’s passing. Jax and Brittany even went so far as to book another wedding officiant because of Lisa’s expected absence.
And yet, here we are — a very nice, meaningful addition to the wedding party even if it comes as such an unexpected surprise.

The lovely young couple celebrated their rehearsal dinner ahead of the big day on Thursday evening in Versailles, Kentucky; as expected, the Vanderpump Rules co-stars were all in tow, too: Stassi Schroeder, Lala Kent, Kristen Doute, Scheana Marie, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Tom Sandoval, and Tom Schwartz were all there to celebrate the wonderful event!
