Mastectomy Can LOWER Chance Of Surviving Breast Cancer!

When it comes to breast cancer, many would assume that a mastectomy would be the best way to ensure survival.
Turns out that a new study of over 100,000 woman with breast cancer found that that’s not necessarily true!
When the breast cancer was caught early enough, like stage one or two, those who chose a lumpectomy over a mastectomy were 13% more likely to survive the disease!
And with women over 50 in that same situation? The number went up to 17%!
The study has shown that radiotherapy, a 5 to 6 week treatment, is actually more effective at killing off the remaining cancer cells than simply just trying to remove the whole breast.
The lead researcher said this is good because there has been a lot of recent:

“[├óΓé¼┬ª] interest in mastectomy to treat early stage breast cancers, despite the research supporting lumpectomy.”

So now hopefully women will be able to keep their breasts!
Great news that a lumpectomy with radiotherapy is so successful.
More options are always better in the fight against cancer!
